The space
A very spacious luxury apartment in the center of the historic district of Halepa. With a tradition of hosting the turn of the century aristocracy of Chania, Halepa still has same aura of that period, as many historic mansions have been preserved. The apartment (in a small family owned 3 floor building) is a maisonette with five balconies. With uninhibited view one can feel miles away from the city, even though the location is just 5' driving distance from the center of Chania!

The house is located in a privileged location.
Opposite the house is the palace (the residence of Prince George at the beginnings of the 20th century), the old French Academy, and the Museum of El. Venizelos (a Prime Minister of Greece, credited with being "the maker of modern Greece"), which used to be his residence and now has been restored and is open to the public. Behind the house is the Russian Orthodox church Agia Magdalini and only 200 meters away lies the sea and the famous location of Tabakaria.

One can enjoy long walks around the area. Within 3 minutes walking distance one can visit Tabakaria, the place where the tanneries used to operate in the 19th century. Tabakaria, nowadays declared as a monument of industrial archaeology, is the most exclusive and therefore most expensive real estate land in the city of Chania.
In case you have children the garden of Agia Magdalini is an ideal place to stroll and a secure spot for children to safely play around!

Travel Details from the host -> It is always hard to speak for yourself; let's put it otherwise. I returned back in my hometown in 2007 and have never regret it so far! I find pleasure in what i call essentials. Nature, creativity (whenever possible!!), travelling a nice hike, a bike ride at the countryside, a morning or sunset dive into the sea, playing with my dog, good friends and trustful relationships! Simple things, yet enough. I will be more than happy to share my perspective of Chania with you.
