The space
The “Meltemi” house is a century-old house in the center of the village of Naoussa. The ground floor was a lime paint factory and the whole village was whitewashed each year by the owner of the house. Later in the 1970s, two avant-garde women turned the house into a bar. It was named “Meltemi” meaning in Greek “northern wind” because Naoussa is located in the north of the island and swept by the gentle breeze of the “Meltemi” in August.

The years passed and the bar became an art gallery and than became a home again.

We have kept the original features of the old house, preserved the arch and the stone walls in the ground floor as to create a central living room in the house. The accommodation of the terrace gives a new dimension to this old building, more contemporary, and offers a panoramic view of Naoussa.
