It was back in January 2018, while we were celebrating my mum's 84th birthday at a tavern in the mountains, when we became friends with a group of Scandinavians who were celebrating their 20th year on the island. They said, "Before we moved here, we thought that the Aegean was the heart of the world. Now we are certain that Crete is the core of this heart. Everyone should visit this holy land like a pilgrim. We were lucky enough to find a second home" and they pointed out "it's not Greece, it's Crete!"
I always love it when I share my genuine love for my island with others and while you can't move to Crete forever, you can be a native for as long as you are here!

Travel Details from the host -> Welcome to my home! My name is Christina, I'm Marcus mum and I'm a native of Rethymno. The streets of this beautiful small spot near the south corner of Europe, have always been home to me. Because I love traveling so much I have studied Tourism Administration, but since life is full of surprises, I have been working in the marketing department of a publishing company for two decades, having the pleasure to cooperate with incredible, fun and talented people everyday. However, I remain an avid traveler at heart and I could not help getting involved with the AirBnB experience, since the best part of traveling is sharing.
