Travel Details from the host -> Originally from Scotland, I have always lived a semi-nomadic life while working in hospitality and tourism, including many locations around Australia and in Jersey in the Channel Islands. Most recently, I operated a hotel in the lovely Lake District town of Kendal. After selling the hotel in 2017, I traveled for a while before settling in the beautiful Greek Island of Rhodes. Hazelrigg is my home in Kendal, tastefully decorated with some family heirlooms and many treasures from my travels. Often described by guests as "home-from-home" it is the ideal place for families and friends to explore and enjoy relaxing breaks in the Lake District. My good friend and co-host, Karen, helps me to run Hazelrigg as a holiday home. Karen is from Kendal and is a wealth of local knowledge, including the best fell walks. Karen is also from the hospitality background, so between us, we know what our guests expect, and we aim to exceed these expectations. In Rhodes, I live in the beautiful and authentic mountain village of Salakos. I am surrounded by lush natural countryside, olive, and orange groves, and enjoy breathtaking sea views. Salakos is a farming community and the local people are warm and generous. Here, I have a little holiday rental studio. Mountain Village Studio Salakos is a traditional Greek one-room home with a raised platform bed and a corner fireplace. It has lovely sea views from its little terrace and is ideal for enjoying mountain village life and exploring all of Rhodes wonderful attractions and beaches. I also co-host on behalf of other holiday rental owners throughout Rhodes, managing their online bookings and meeting and greeting some of their guests. I love meeting new people from all walks of life and love what I do. I
