Except for the world known unique beach of Elafonisi, short or longer walks on the footpaths around and through the village will give you the opportunity to observe the natural habitat (there is a natures sanctuary "AGIOS DIKAIOS" with bird species under extintion). Also, you can track the local history at the war museum just a few steps away from Feneri House.Local events such as fairs and the jazz festival are held in the nearby villages very often during the summer period. Minimarket, Bakery, Gas station Tavernas, and Pharmacy can be found at the nearby village of Elos just 2,5 klm away (5 minutes drive). On your way to Elafonissi, after Perivolia you will meet the village of Vathi with a small café/ minimarket and a renovated traditional barber shop selling handicraft, definitely worth the visit! Travel Details from the host -> I was born and raised in Chania. I studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Piraeus and upon completing my studies I returned to Chania where I now live with my wife and baby daughter. We like travelling, slow cooking and being close to nature. The now "Feneri Houses" were my grandparent's permanent residence. An original counrty house of its time which we restored trying to maintain its original character. We will be very happy to host you and make your stay a special memory!
