We rent out our Knaus over-cab camper (2009) for max 4 persons.
Crete by camper is the best way to see all of the island. At most beaches you can do free camping but Crete has also 15 official camp sites.
With 260km of length and a 1.000km coast line, mountainious Crete is great to discover by campervan. In your own pace, enjoying the best places.

The space
The Knaus is a compact over-cap camper with a large double bed in the over-cab and 2 bunkbeds in the rear. The cabin has swivel chairs that can be turned towards the table. Under the bunkbeds is a large storage area.
Our camper comes with full equipped kitchen, fridge, 3 burner stove, hot water supply, heating and toilet/shower, outdoor chairs and table. Ans as we have the camper with a solar panel and 12v-->220v inverter, you are very independent in where to go.
Optional is beddings and towels.

But you can make great walks through the canyons, some are the longest of Europe. The E4 is a great walking path all along Crete.
There are many high plains where you can stop with the camper for the night.

The history of Crete goes back at least 5.000 years when the Minoan period began as the first civilized period of Europe. It was a peaceful period with a highly developed culture. The Archeologic Museum of Heraklion shows many finds from this period.

Travel Details from the host -> My name is Gus (in Dutch Guus) and I met my Greek wife while working a holiday job on Rhodes. After 18 years in the Netherlands we moved to Crete in 2008. We have 3 grown-up daughters and a small dog, Roza. We choose Crete for its a large and various island with all necessary facilities. Heraklion is a lively city all year around. Crete has much to offer: great beaches, mountains (snow covered peeks during the winter), canyons, archeology, history, quiet south coast. The Cretans are proud, hospital and very friendly. The food in Crete is great and the climate is the best of all the mediterranean. With its length of over 260 kilometers and 1.000 km of coastline, Crete is great to discover by camper!
