Ziros is a very beautiful Cretan mountain village (altitude 500m) built in amphitheatrical order, lying on the homonymous plateau. It enjoys very beautiful environment with the vineyard dominating and lies right in the middle of the easternmost part of the island Crete (equal distance from the north coast - Siteia and the south coast - Xerokampos beaches approximately half an hour by car). It is a perfect base for explorers enjoying walking tours on the E4 european path and a great number of local paths with nearby gorges such as Chametoulo towards Xerokampos (south coast) or Agia eirini towards the Libyan sea, not too far from the Minoan archaelogical site (minoan palace) with the nearby lying gorge of the dead. Very near, on the same plateau of Armenoi, Chandras, Ziros there is a beautifully restored Venetian villa (Etia) and a number of caves towards Voila, Sitanos and Karidaki.
