Travel Details from the host -> Born in Wisconsin, I moved to LA after college to become a screenwriter & standup comic. I met a Zen Buddhist priest in Hollywood & moved to his monastery just outside of LA, where I lived for 13 years. I published essays in the New York Times, Huffington Post, Tricycle etc., and two humorous books about my life as a Zen monk, before meeting a wonderful woman and moving to Vienna to be with her. Now I'm working on a new book while spending time with my girlfriend and her 13-year-old son, and taking in the sights and sounds of this gorgeous, utterly enchanting city. When it comes to Airbnb I am a quiet, respectful guest & host. I live by the principles I learned at the monastery: treat others as though they are yourself.
