Kares village is one of the many villages of Apokoronas province.
Apokoronas is one of the most beautiful area of Crete- is well known for its hospitable citizens, its beautiful traditional villages and the unique natural beauty.
The closest beach to our villa is Kalyves, located at a distance of 10 km, while you may also visit the nearby beaches of Almyrida and Kyani Akti, all with crystal clear blue water and awarded with blue flags, full of restaurants and cafes.
If you prefer the mountains, Kares is a small village with typical and authentic Cretan atmosphere. It would be extremely interesting to visit the stone-built, igloo shaped, summer shelters of local shepherds. But it will be also an adventured experience to drive at Volikas refuge, or St. Modestos at Pryhro Pigadi and from there to walk deeper and higher in the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) from where you will have an exceptional panoramic view to the whole north-west Crete.
