Located on the first corner of the east side boulevard you walk within 2 minutes to shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and the like.

The apartment consists of a big living room with an open kitchen, two fairly large bedrooms with two separate beds each, a bathroom with shower and two balconies.
A large sofa in the living room easily transforms into an extra (single) bed. The apartment has wifi.

in area-Paleochora, Greece

Paleochora is a fairly quiet town, even in summer. The number of inhabitants is 3.500 and during summer that number doubles easily. Here, village life with all traditions, holidays and festivals still prevails. The tourists they simply fit in and they become truly part of village life. Some of them became residents and live in Paleochora. There is an art festival and a (small scale) international film festival and there is the occasional live music in the street, but it is all quiet and mellow. There is something magical about this place and we believe that has to do with the beautiful nature around and the fact that the village is almost encircled by the sea. In the evening the main street and the east boulevard are closed for cars. Bars and restaurants put their tables outside and all this leads to an evening long parade of locals, tourists and playing children. Some way to experience the Cretan hospitality!

Travel Details from the host -> Aphrodite (Afroditi in Greek) was the name of my grandmother. She passed away some years ago at the age of 103. She lived downstairs in the cornerhouse with my grandfather (Giorgos) and they raised my mother and her brother and sister. I myself grew up in Athens, but every eastern and summer we came down to Paleochora for holidays. In the 70’s my grandparents built the first ‘Rooms for Rent’ in Paleochora by the name ‘Afroditi rooms’. My grandmother was a great hostess for almost 40 years for so many tourists. Some of them came back year after year. I stayed in my grandmother’s house almost every year of my life. Later I brought my daughter Aphrodite as well. Recently I rented out a nice country house in Koundoura on Airbnb for a while until that was permanently rented out. Now my mother rebuilt most of the rooms of grandmother into a new modern apartment. We are happy with the result. Of course the view and nature remain impressive. But our goal is obviously to meet the standard of hospitality of Afroditi. I live in Amsterdam, but I am regularly in Paleochora and I have all the contacts there that are needed.
