Right opposite the Domus Clodia, at Emmanouil Vernadou 30, our guests can have the wonderful experience of watching Mr. Giorgos Hatziparaskos, an 86-year-old baker who is one of the last people in Greece that still creates the country’s iconic multi-layered phyllo dough by hand. Every day, for many years now, Mr. Hatziparaskos and his family open the doors of his traditional bakery in Rethymno, Crete, to lovers of sweets from around the world, allowing them to peek into the traditional pastry-making practices that are rarely seen in the country anymore.

After several years of studying, working, and living in Athens and London, I decided to return to my hometown, which I love. One of the things I adore is traveling and meeting new people, new places, new cultures. Whenever we can, my husband and I take our kids and travel.
