We always looked for a house on the sea when we travelled.  We loved Paros and found  2 unfinished houses  in Krotiri.  This was for us the place to be. The beaches are close, the port, the  Restaurants,  the main town Parikia.  When our kids  were teenagers they could  walk  to Marcello, Krios, Livadia beach and  Parikia.
